Sheila Kay is a graduate of Northeast Louisiana University, which is now ULM, and has a degree in radio and television communication. She has been in radio for many years and is very familiar with country music. She has been happily married to her husband, Mike, for 26 years and they have a beautiful family. One by one her children are off to college and getting married.
Sheila is also the Program Director of Sunny 98.3. Her days start bright and early as she is also the co-host of the morning show on Sunny. Sheila stays active in the community as well as her church. We asked Sheila what she enjoys doing on her spare time and her response was, "what's spare time?
I am happily married to the love of my life, Tracy, and we have 4 girls and 1 boy. Yes, I live in the "House of Estrogen" but Tracy won't let me hang an official sign above our front door. Even our dogs are females so I can't catch much of a break.
I grew up wanting to be a Broadway actor because my father was for many years but I found an interest in radio when I was 12. I got my first radio job when I was 13. So, I have been doing this "radio thing" for 23 years. It's not only a job but one of my biggest passions. Though I play the "goofy sarcastic" guy on the air, I truly do have a big heart.
I also work in Christian radio and I feel that is more of a ministry thing for me. I stay fairly wrapped up in my church; New Life Community Church and I reaaaaaaalllly want to go on a mission trip. A trip to Israel would also be amazing. They're both on mu bucket list.
I also love cruises to exotic locations, playing golf, the New Orleans Saints and Alabama (Roll Tide) football and my favorite colors are blue and money. I am a die hard Aerosmith fan but the best concert that I have ever been to was Elton John. I have an unhealthy obsession with Gwen Stefani and I think pregnant women are beautiful. I grew up near the Jersey Shore but I consider Louisiana my home! (This last paragraph has been completely random.)
You can catch me weekday mornings with Sheila Kay on Sunny 98.3!
I have been in radio for over 15 years. Grew up in Crossett, AR. Born and raised a razorback fan, and despite some of my family members being cardinal fans I became a Cubs fan.
I have lived in Arkansas Mississippi Oklahoma Missouri Kansas and Louisiana.
I love radio because it is always interesting to me. I can listen to music, talk about movies and tv shows. I have been able to do ag news and markets. I have been able to do the news, sports, and play-by-play for football, basketball, and baseball. And I enjoy meeting new people.
I started to learn how to cook on my own about 10 years ago and the greatest invention has to be the crock pot.
In my spare time I of course listen to music, occasionally go to karaoke bars, shoot pool, watch tv, go to movies, and read.
Growing up in Gilbert, LA and attending Winnsboro High School, Eddie always dreams of something bigger. Six months after graduating high school, he realized Dallas may be a little too big. So, he made trails back to Louisiana, but this time to Ouachita Parish.
He began his first radio job on the campus of ULM while still a teenager, but found a passion that has stuck with him to this day. He has continued his radio career for 12 years. Other than work, Eddie enjoys mixing music, video games, playing golf, watching football (because his playing days are far behind him), and cooking.
